IMCD Finland Oy acquired Oy Kokko-Fiber Ab in September 2020.
Oy Kokko-Fiber Ab is the leading Finnish family-owned supplier of fiber-reinforced plastic composite materials. The company was founded in 1994 by Stefan Brännkärr. We serve a very broad customer base which includes many of the largest Finnish companies that use fiber-reinforced plastics composites in their operations. The largest FRP industry in Finland is the marine industry. We sell products that are used for building e.g. boats, plastic doors, pipes and tanks, swimming pools, sports equipment, and bodies and drawbar-trailers for trucks.
Since the establishment of our company, we have put customer orientation as our highest principle. This can be seen in practice by our willingness to constantly develop and expand our warehouse and stock. Our aim is to provide our customers with the fastest possible service. Additionally, we offer our customers an extensive product range that have since our establishment included Ineos composites (previously Ashland and Neste Polyester) and Diab's core materials, and we have been the exclusive distributor for both brands in the Finnish market for many years. In addition, different fibre reinforcements, as emulsion mats and roving-products, form the core of our product range. We seek to constantly improve and expand our product range based on the feedback we receive from our customers.
Our warehouse is located in Kokkola, in Western Finland, from where we can easily serve the 60% of the Finnish marine industry that is located in the western coastal areas of Finland. Over the years we have developed a strong logistical knowledge, thus, we are able to help our customers in finding the best transport solutions for their needs. Moreover, in 2016, we also opened a sales outlet in Porvoo for the purposes of being better able to serve our customers located in Southern Finland.
As a customer oriented operator, we want our customers to feel that they can turn to us with their questions. We are happy to advise our customers already in the planning phase of a project about the use and need of reinforced plastics in their projects. We are confident in doing this with our over 20 years of experience in fibre-reinforced plastics.
